Dear [Firstname],

Today is our first day back in the office after MAGIC Live, so we’re still unpacking boxes and trying to get our feet back on the ground.  However, I wanted to let you know as soon as possible about a major change in your MAGIC Magazine subscription.

The August 2016 magazine, with Fabrini’s amazing painting on cover, is the 300th and final issue of MAGIC as we know it.

After much consideration and after exploring several different possibilities, I’m excited to announce that I am retiring MAGIC Magazine.
This is exciting news, because I am not done yet — far from it. I’ve published the magazine for 25 years, and will now produce the final 25 issues over the next two years.  We call these special issues the MAGIC Legacy editions.

As a current subscriber, you have two options:
  1. Do nothing, and you will receive the balance of your subscription as Legacy magazines, with the first issue appearing mid-November.
  2. Opt into the complete Legacy series, and we’ll credit back $5 (plus overseas postage if applicable) for every remaining issue you have on your current subscription. And we’ll send you a free copy of Square One, while supplies last. This is the booklet originally given to MAGIC subscribers in 1991, which is a collector’s item today.
To find out more about these final 25 issues and our Early Bird Special, please visit our MAGIC Legacy website. You can upgrade to Legacy starting Thursday, August 25th, at noon ET.

There’s so much more to talk about, but for now, let me mention just a few of the Legacy game-changers.
  • Limited print run. Sold only as a complete set and only by subscription
  • No digital edition. We’re going back to our roots — paper and ink.
  • Secret delivery dates. Starting in November, 25 special magazines will arrive in your mailbox at varying intervals over the next two years — each a surprise, the way magic should be.
  • Exclusive bonuses. Just one example, you’ll get a Legacy deck — a deck of special gaffed cards for some of the amazing tricks found throughout the Legacy issues.
  • This is the end. Legacy editions mark the end of MAGIC Magazine. The publication will not be sold or rebooted in any form. This is it!
In the summer of 1991, I asked the magic community to join me on a crazy new venture. Now 25 years later, I’m asking you to join me again. It’s going to be quite a ride.

Stan
