For Armando Lucero, close-up is no mere stepping stone to larger venues, but a driving passion to affect the hearts and minds of his audiences. And, not incidentally, he fools the hell out of magicians, too.

By Dan Lefay and Mark Jensen

Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear, when Dunninger received the thoughts of his audiences and broadcast them for the world to hear. Sixty years later, Joseph Atmore recreated a live Dunninger radio show.

By John Lovick

Howard Thurston might have wanted people to lie awake nights wondering how his illusions were accomplished, but he did not want them awake because someone was snoring. Thurston's invention set out to cure that, but may have just helped his fortune to disappear.

It was a magic theme float that won the Grand Prize at the Portland Rose Festival this year. The presentation in the parade didn't go exactly as plannedÉ it may actually have been better!

Paul Kozak is the funny, popular host of The World's Greatest Magic Show in Las Vegas. In the 1980s and '90s, he was one of the most successful entertainers on the comedy club circuit, as well as performing regularly on HBO specials, Showtime, Evening at the Improv, Comic Strip Live, and The Late Show. He was a man at the pinnacle of his career. Unfortunately the way got slippery, he lost his grip, and took a great fall. From the very top to the rocky bottom was a long, hard, horrific drop, and the impact nearly killed him. His story is both frightening and inspirational.
